Advice on Growing Your Business Online

Now that thousands of properties in Lincolnshire have access to superfast broadband, what’s the best way of getting your business online and working to its full potential? A free workshop from onlincolnshire in Skegness could have the answer.

Advice for delegates attending the session comes courtesy of Brett Dixon, Director of DP Online Marketing Ltd, which has been ranked in the top one per cent of UK Google Partnership Agencies.

“The title of the workshop is ‘How can I grow my business online’?” explained Brett. “We will look into various ways of increasing your reach online in terms of enquiries and sales through Google AdWords and explain how you can use search engine optimisation (SEO) to improve the ranking of your website on Google.

Brett will also share his predictions for future consumer behaviour using Google Trends and hold a Q&A session so that audience members can ask any burning questions they may want to know the answer to.

Executive Member for Economic Development at Lincolnshire County Council, Cllr Colin Davie, said: “Thanks to the onlincolnshire project well over 100,000 homes and businesses now have access to superfast broadband.

“Being able to take advantage of the benefits these speeds can bring is important if businesses are to excel, which is why we’re running this event and we hope lots of people to take up this fantastic opportunity to get expert advice free of charge!”

The workshop takes place on Thursday 3rd November at the Skegness Business Centre from 5pm to 6.30pm.

Attendance is free, but booking is essential as numbers are limited. To reserve your place, email onlincolnshire@lincs-chamber.co.uk

Notes to Editors:

About onlincolnshire
• onlincolnshire is a Lincolnshire County Council-run project which is part-funded by the East Midlands European Regional Development Fund Programme 2007 to 2013.
• In March 2013, the council signed a £48 million contract with BT to provide superfast broadband to at least 88% of county properties by 2016, with the remaining properties having access to at least of 2Mbps broadband. A further investment of £2.8 million was announced in February 2014 which has increased the number of properties to 89%.
• The contract with BT concentrates on an intervention area of over 150,000 premises where existing or planned commercial roll outs would not deliver superfast speeds.
• The Department for Communities and Local Government is the managing authority for the European Regional Development Fund Programme, which is one of the funds established by the European Commission to help local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support local businesses and create jobs. For more information visit www.communities.gov.uk/erdf
• Some internet users in rural Lincolnshire experience speeds of less than 1 Mbps. The UK’s average broadband speed is 12 Mbps, according to Ofcom.
