Duncan & Toplis Slimmers Shed Pounds for Pounds!

It’s been a case of ‘eat less, move more’ for four super slimmers at Duncan & Toplis’ Louth office in recent months.

The four staff – Paul Dobbs, Jo Norton, Nigel Fannon and Robert Mantle – have shed an incredible 52 ¼ pounds over 12 weeks and have raised more than £700 for The Sick Children’s Trust and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

The four slimmers decided to raise the cash as a colleague’s baby daughter, born in April, spent around 16 weeks in care at Grimsby Hospital and in Sheffield.

Robert Mantle, Manager at the Louth office, said: “Our colleague’s baby was born with multiple health issues and the care she received was fantastic. Her mother was able to stay at the Sick Children’s Trust accommodation at Magnolia House in Sheffield, which saved her having to drive a 180 mile return journey every day”.

“There wasn’t much we could do to help, so we thought we would raise some cash for the charity instead.”

The four staff started eating healthily and exercising more, with two of the slimmers dropping over 17 pounds each and one slimmer 14 pounds!

As well as the money raised through sponsorship, the staff at the Louth office have run cake sales, sold quiz sheets and held raffles.

To really make Christmas special at the Children’s Hospital, staff have also donated a bundle of toys provided by Morrisons in Louth and by the staff themselves.

Robert added: “We would like to say a big thank you to the four slimmers, those who have helped us raise so much and Morrisons in particular for their huge toy donation. We’re still collecting donations if people are feeling generous.”
