Elite Bags Recognition for Excellence at National Awards

The Elite Fish and Chip Company in Lincolnshire has been rewarded for its Great British heritage at the sixth annual Red Ribbon Awards.

More than 300 family businesses and guests gathered at Shakespeare’s Globe in London for the Family Business Place Red Ribbon Awards 2015 to honour the achievements of Britain’s finest family-run businesses.

The Elite stood out because it was the only business representing the fish and chips industry at the ceremony, and the company received a Commended for Excellence award in the Best of British category.

Rachel Tweedale, Manager of The Elite Fish and Chip Company’s Sleaford restaurant and takeaway, said: “We are delighted to be recognised and celebrated for our British heritage. It goes without saying that we were up against some very strong competition, but we’re proud of our achievement.

“We are passionate about traditional fish and chips and over the years we have maintained our traditional family values of delivering the highest quality food and using the same home-made batter recipe for over 40 years. We are proud to serve our customers a dish so rich in history and dear to our nation’s heart.”

The Elite Fish and Chip Company was also nominated as a finalist in two other award categories: Longevity and One to Watch.

This is the second year The Elite Fish and Chip Company has attended the Red Ribbon Awards; in 2014 it won the Corporate Social Responsibility Award for its efforts to support and give back to the community and managing to raise over £25,000 for five local charities.
