Future Leaders Promoted at Duncan & Toplis in Boston

Two promising employees at Duncan & Toplis who were among the first to join the firm’s new leadership academy have been promoted to Associate Partners.

Sarah Clyde and Matt Herd at the Boston office were selected for the Duncan & Toplis Academy along with six others after a challenging assessment day in June which included practical tests and group activities.

The academy was set up last year by the chartered accountancy firm, which has around 350 staff and ten offices in the East Midlands, to identify the people who might lead the practice in the future.

Matt Herd, who has been with Duncan & Toplis for six years, is enthusiastic about his new role. “I am delighted with my recent promotion to Associate Partner,” he said. “I have benefited greatly from the firm’s forward thinking approach and the partners’ active encouragement of staff aspirations and career progression.

“As an Associate Partner, I look forward to contributing to the continued development of the firm and the services that it offers.”

Sarah is also very happy to have been made an Associate Partner at Duncan & Toplis, a company she says she is very proud to work for. “I look forward to continuing to work closely with both existing and new clients over the coming years to help their businesses grow and flourish while providing them with proactive ongoing support and advice,” she said.

Adrian Reynolds, Managing Partner at Duncan & Toplis, said: “One of the responsibilities of the Duncan & Toplis partners is to plan ahead and prepare for the future succession of the firm.”

“We have introduced the Duncan & Toplis Academy to identify and help individuals to develop their careers through targeted training and support.

“Being successful in the academy does not necessarily lead to promotion, but it does demonstrate our confidence in the individuals selected and it provides a great opportunity for personal development.”

The other participants in the Duncan & Toplis Academy this year have been Theo Banos and Michael Shortland in Grantham, Karen Taylor in Newark, Paul McCooey – now a Partner at Skegness – Kay Botley in Sleaford and Heather Lamin at Castlegate Financial Management in Grantham.

The next assessment day will take place in June, when a new group of participants will be selected.
