Meet Nikhita, Lincoln’s Newest Rising Star

After a busy first half of the year, PR and marketing agency Shooting Star is expanding its team in Lincoln with the appointment of a new Junior Account Executive.

Nikhita Keshwara (22) studied Broadcast Journalism at Nottingham Trent University and achieved a first-class honours degree. Having completed a paid three-month internship with Shooting Star, Nikhita has now become a permanent member of the team.

Working alongside Account Manager Mike Shields, Nikhita is responsible for writing and issuing news releases, researching and building media databases, monitoring and updating social media and copywriting for various clients.

Mike said: “We’re proud to welcome Nikhita to Shooting Star on a permanent basis. She has proved to be very capable so far and has fitted straight into the team.

“Nikhita’s degree and background in broadcast journalism has definitely helped her to quickly adapt to the role and she has grown in ability and confidence. We look forward to helping her further develop her skills and rise through the ranks.”

Nikhita, who lives in Metheringham, is the third intern to secure a permanent position with Shooting Star.

Speaking about her appointment, Nikhita said “I am delighted to be appointed as a Junior Account Executive after such an enjoyable three-month internship. I have learnt so much during a short space of time and I can’t wait to carry on developing these skills.

“It’s an exciting time to work for Shooting Star and I’m looking forward to continuing to work alongside a very talented and knowledgeable team in my new role.”

While studying at NTU, Nikhita produced an award-winning documentary surrounding the impacts of parental imprisonment on children and those around them.

The agency’s Rising Star scheme, established in May 2010, has given nine university students and graduates the opportunity to get a foothold in the PR and marketing industry.
