Greater Lincolnshire LEP

New Board Member Needed for LEP

The Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) says it needs a “strong business leader” from North Lincolnshire to fill a vacancy on its board.

The LEP is looking for a new board member from the private sector to help the organisation drive forward its plans for growth, which include adding £3.2 billion to the local economy.

The ideal candidate should have a senior role with a good knowledge of the business community and Greater Lincolnshire area, as well as a network of influential contacts.

Ursula Lidbetter MBE, Chair of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, said: “We are looking for an advocate from the North Lincolnshire business community, someone who is able to think strategically and take a broad view across the full range of issues affecting Greater Lincolnshire.

“We are entering an exciting phase for LEPs; this is an opportunity for someone to play a key role in making Greater Lincolnshire a prosperous and economically strong region.”

The new member will replace Neil Turton, who left the board at the end of last year. The post is voluntary and will involve attending around eight meetings per year, lobbying MPs sometimes in London, attending other meetings as a representative for the LEP and background reading of papers and documents. Travel expenses can be claimed.

The Greater Lincolnshire LEP is a business-led partnership between the private and public sector, and was formed in response to a strong desire by the business community and the public sector to ensure that economic interests of the area were properly represented.

For an informal discussion, please contact Ruth Carver on 01522 550515 or Kate Storey on 01522 550540. The deadline for applications is 31st January 2014. Applications can be made by sending a CV and covering letter to Kate Storey either by post to Greater Lincolnshire LEP, City Hall, Beaumont Fee, Lincoln, LN1 1DD or via kate.storey@licolnshire.gov.uk.
