See Branagh’s Romeo and Juliet Live at The Venue at BGU

Sir Kenneth Branagh has reunited the stars of his new film version of Cinderella to play Romeo and Juliet on stage – and Lincoln audiences can see the production broadcast live at Bishop Grosseteste University.

Richard Madden (best known as Robb Stark in Game of Thrones) and Lily James (Lady Rose in Downton Abbey) play the star-crossed lovers in arguably Shakespeare’s most celebrated tragedy.

The modern version of Romeo and Juliet by the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company at the Garrick Theatre in London will be screened live at The Venue at BGU at 7.15pm on Thursday 7th July.

Kenneth Branagh directs a cast which also includes Sir Derek Jacobi as Mercutio. The famous play depicts how a long-standing feud between the Montague and Capulet families in Verona brings about devastating consequences for two young lovers caught in the conflict.

The performance lasts approximately three and a half hours and tickets cost £16 or £14 concessions, including BGU staff and students.
