Superbike Stars Head to Bury St Edmunds for Cool FAB Racing

British superbike rider Luke Mossey, who is sixth in the championship following the opening round at Silverstone, will be meeting the superbike stars of the future in Bury St Edmunds at the weekend.

He’ll be joining last year’s British F1 sidecar champions Ricky Charlwood and Ryan Stevens at Round 2 of the Cool FAB Racing British Minibikes Championship at Red Lodge which takes place from 15th to 17th April. Swedish rider Filip Backlund is also hoping to attend depending on fitness following his collarbone injury.

The competition got off to a flying start in Llandow over the Easter Bank Holiday with the likes of Casey O’Gorman, Josh Whatley, Ollie Walker, Mason Johnson, Amanuel Brinton, Elliot Pinson and Josh Bannister all battling it out for the top positions.

Organiser of the Cool Fab Racing British Championship Roger Keys said this weekend’s action promises to be just as exciting.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing all of the riders return for Round 2 as the series opener was a real nail biter despite the challenging weather conditions,” said Roger.

“We’re very lucky to have Cool Milk on board as a partner this year. They are big supporters of British motorsport at all levels and are keen to help position the Cool FAB racing series as the leading UK minibike championship and training ground for BSB, WSB and GP.

“Having the likes of Filip Backlund and Luke Mossey on hand to give tips and advice to our young riders is a real bonus and we hope they’ll inspire even more people to take part.”

Moto2 GP rider Danny Kent started his professional racing career on the Cool FAB Racing circuit and once again younger brother Kieran is expected to be competing in the PitBike Open along with BSB riders Fraser Rogers, Charlie Nesbitt, Max Cook, Cameron Horsman and TJ Toms.

The 2015 champion, 12-year-old Elliot Pinson from Swindon, will also be at Red Lodge and is hoping he can hold on to the top spot in the MiniGP 70 category.

Crispin Vitoria, Managing Director of Cool Motor Racing, the company delivering Cool Milk’s 10-year sponsorship deal with FAB Racing, said: “We’re lucky to have a lot of talented young riders in the series and we’re very excited to see how 2016 will unfold.

“Once again we’re bringing along the Quattro Plant Kawasaki hospitality team and several of the riders so there will be something for the whole family to enjoy. What is more Downforce Radio will be providing live coverage of all of the action so even if you can’t come along to all three days you can still listen to their commentary online.”

There is still time to enter Round 2 of the 2016 Cool FAB Racing British Championship at Red Lodge in Bury Saint Edmunds. Numbers are limited so riders are advised to get their entries in early to avoid disappointment. Visit www.coolfabracing.com for more information.
