Teamwork is Key to Success of New Soy Sauce Bottle

Four expert packaging firms have worked together to produce a new bespoke soy sauce bottle for Dutch food company Inproba.

UK-based glass manufacturer Beatson Clark and its sister company Pont Europe teamed up with Dutch capping specialists Teamplast and sleeving experts Rivièra Product Decorations to design and produce the new packaging.

The new 150ml white flint bespoke bottle, which has a special ROPP neck finish and a unique functional pouring device, will stand out on the shelf of supermarkets throughout Europe thanks to its beautiful sleeved design and ease of use.

It will be used for Inproba’s own-brand soy sauce product, as well as for a private label soy sauce product sold throughout major supermarkets in Europe.

Pont Europe is the European sales arm of Beatson Clark, and this project is an excellent example of the benefits of the partnership between the sister companies.

“We were able to bring together all four companies at the glass plant and worked closely throughout this project and during the aftercare period to provide Inproba with a seamless service,” said Jan-Willem Ridt, Business Area Manager at Pont Europe.

“The result is a unique bottle design based on the traditional carafe and inspired by Asian cuisine which will look great on the dinner table.

“It’s an excellent example of how Beatson Clark’s in-house designers, alongside Pont Europe’s sales team, can work closely with the client and their other suppliers to create an outstanding product.”

Pont Europe and Beatson Clark designed the carafe-shaped bottle while Rivièra Product Decorations produces the sleeve that gives the 150ml bottle its distinctive style.

Teamplast, a specialist in dosing solutions, was responsible for the design and production of the functional pouring device, which has two openings: one draws in air while the product is poured through the other opening.

The soy sauce can be poured in drops by closing the air opening. The closure contains very few parts, which is an advantage during production.

Johan van Vulpen, Packaging Purchaser at Inproba, is positive about the partnership between the companies.

“It might sound obvious, but it is not common for suppliers to operate as a team,” he said. “For this project Inproba could count on a well connected group of specialists who took joint responsibility up to the filling stage.

“This was also very noticeable during team meetings where our equipment supplier Altrimex was also present. The combined knowledge and creativity has led to a very successful and problem-free project.”

Inproba Soy Sauce is 100% natural, contains no artificial additives and is the perfect seasoning for meat, fish, stir fries and sushi.
