Teeing Off at 25th Duncan & Toplis Charity Golf Day

Nearly 60 teams representing businesses and organisations across the East Midlands will tee off at the 25th Duncan & Toplis Charity Golf Day on 3rd July.

Organisers say more teams are welcome to enter as they aim to make the silver anniversary golf day the biggest and best yet.

Duncan & Toplis, the leading East Midlands firm of chartered accountants and business advisers, has raised £68,500 for charitable causes from its golf days over the last quarter-century.

Benefiting from this year’s event, which will take place at the Belton Woods Hotel near Grantham on Friday 3rd July, will be Canine Partners Rutland & Lincolnshire Support Group and Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service.

“As this is such a special year for us we would really like to get as many teams as possible to play and we are hoping to raise a record amount for the charities this year,” said Lisa Pask, a member of the organising committee.

The format of the event remains unchanged: teams of three will play a Stableford tournament open to ladies’, gents’ or mixed teams competing for the same team prizes. Entry costs £180 per team.

There will be team prizes on each course as well as the Duncan & Toplis Shield which is held for one year by the overall winners. There will also be prizes for nearest to the pin on the par threes, separate longest drives for gents and ladies, and a twos competition.

If you would like to enter a team please download an entry form at http://www.duntop.co.uk/pdf/CharityGolfDayEntryform2015.pdf and email it to golf@duntop.co.uk. Entries close on Monday 22 June 2015.

If you are unable to enter a team but would like to sponsor a hole, send your name and contact details with a cheque for £50 made payable to Duncan & Toplis Golf Society Charity Account to 3 Castlegate, Grantham NG31 6SF. Sponsors will be able to provide their company logo to be displayed on a board at the tee box. All donations will go directly to the two charities.

Canine Partners, which also celebrates 25 years in 2015, is a charity that provides dogs trained to assist disabled people with tasks that may be difficult, painful or impossible to perform.

Volunteers from the Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service transport essential medical items, including blood, plasma, platelets and biological samples, between hospitals and healthcare institutions.
