Greater Lincolnshire LEP

Working Out Ways to Manage Our Water Resources

Effective management of our water resources is vital for the future growth of the economy of Lincolnshire, according to the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

To work towards an effective water management plan the LEP is to stage the first of a series of water for growth workshops on Tuesday 9th June.

Larger businesses in Greater Lincolnshire are being invited to attend the workshop, which will identify the many challenges and devise strategies for overcoming them

The free workshop will take place at the EPIC Centre at the Lincolnshire Showground from 9.30am until 3.30pm on 9th June.

The keynote address will be given by food and agriculture consultant Martin Collison of Collison and Associates. Other speakers will include Mark Tinsley from the Greater Lincolnshire LEP board, Andy Brown from Anglian Water and David Hickman from Lincolnshire County Council.

“Effective management of water is fundamental to Greater Lincolnshire’s planned and future growth,” said Mark Tinsley.

“We want to work with partners across Greater Lincolnshire to develop and implement an approach to water management that enables and promotes growth.

“If we are to make the most of our strengths as a centre for agri-food, manufacturing, housing and tourism we will need a long-term water management plan.

“We must build on our leading approach to flood risk management and explore how we can be equally active in ensuring that water supply and quality is well managed.
