Career opportunities in the logistics sector will be on the agenda at the Logistics Skills Show
Greater Lincolnshire LEP

Are You Ready for a Career in Logistics?

Logistics companies in Greater Lincolnshire have the chance to find the skilled workforce they need at a Logistics Skills Show to be held at Sincil Bank stadium in Lincoln this Friday (23rd September).

The event is being organised by the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership’s Employment and Skills Board in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions, and will bring together more than 30 local employers under one roof.

Visitors to the show, which takes place between 10am and 3pm, will be able to access information on careers in the logistics sector, hear talks by industry leaders, find out about job opportunities and meet training providers. Admission is free.

“Logistics is an exciting and varied sector which offers lots of career choices: as well as driving, roles include warehouse operatives, route planners, logistics co-ordinators, distribution managers and much more,” said Clare Hughes from the Greater Lincolnshire LEP.

“Careers in logistics offer the chance to progress and jobs can start at an annual salary of £17,000, increasing to £40,000 and more depending on the role.

“This event is a fantastic opportunity to match up some large local employers with the workers they need to continue to grow the sector.”

The Logistics Skills Show is taking place during National Lorry Week, a campaign promoted by the Road Haulage Association from 19th to 24th September 2016.

Job centres will be sending job seekers to the event so they can meet the companies and explore the job opportunities available, and organisers are hoping that Lincoln MP Karl McCartney will also attend.

Members of the media are welcome to attend the show – please contact Jez at Shooting Star on 01522 528540 for more information.
