A Lincoln-based director of a family building firm has been named the LABC Warranty Site Manager of the Year in the LABC South Yorkshire Building Excellence Awards.
Barrie Truelove, a Director of Truelove Property & Construction, won the award at a ceremony at Forest Pines Hotel & Golf Resort in Broughton near Brigg last night (Thursday).
He is currently out of the country so the award was accepted by Truelove’s Sales Manager Sophie Barrett and Site Supervisor Luke Clifford, who is Barrie’s nephew.
The award recognises the outstanding contributions of site managers working on LABC Warranty sites for their vision for quality in construction.
“I’m over the moon to have received this honour,” said Barrie, who is currently in Belgium supporting his daughter Holly (13) who is competing in the Opglabbeek Nations Cups showjumping event.
“I’ve been in this business for a long time, so experience counts for a lot. It’s nice to win an award and be recognised for what you do well, but Truelove Property is a family business and every member of the team plays their part.”
Next month Truelove Property will be hoping for further success at the East Midlands LABC Building Excellence Awards 2017, where the company’s development at Rookery Meadows in Scotter, Lincolnshire has been shortlisted in the Best Small New Housing Development category.
The winners will be announced at a black tie awards ceremony at Athena in Leicester on Friday 9th June 2017, and all regional winners will automatically qualify for the LABC Grand Finals which will take place in London in November.
Both awards are organised by Local Authority Building Control, a not-for-profit membership organisation that represents all local authority building control teams in England and Wales.
The awards next month could make it a hat-trick of wins for Truelove Property: in March the firm was named as the Best Residential Development Company – East Midlands in BUILD Magazine’s 2017 Home Builder Awards.
