Farmers are set to hear answers on Article 50 at 'Brexit & You'.

Farmers’ Questions on Article 50 Explained

Chartered accountants Duncan & Toplis have teamed up with Roythornes Solicitors, Brown & Co and Lloyds Bank to tackle the big questions Brexit brings farmers and landowners.

The seminar is set to delve deep into the burning issue of Brexit and the implications triggering Article 50 will bring to our region.

Chaired by NFU Vice President Guy Smith, the ‘Brexit & You’ event will take on Wednesday 15th March at the Newark Showground.

Head of Agriculture at Duncan & Toplis Mark Chatterton said: “Brexit & You will be a fantastic opportunity to hear from a team of experts, not just about how Brexit could impact the sector but also about what steps you can take now to stay ahead of the game.

“Farms and estates could be more significantly affected than some other sectors as a new British agricultural policy takes shape. There will also be a Q&A following the speakers, meaning further lively discussion is likely.”

Brown & Co’s James Black said: “Uncertainty facing the agricultural sector over the coming years has been enhanced by the UK voting to leave the E.U. This brings as many opportunities as threats to farming businesses and this seminar provides an early opportunity to hear the views of the professionals from across the sector on how these may impact your business”

Julie Robinson, Partner at Roythornes said : “This seminar will give farmers and landowners the opportunity to hear from a team of experts, not just about how Brexit could impact the sector but also about what steps they can take now to prepare.”

The speaker line-up for the evening includes:

Julie Robinson – Partner, Roythornes Solicitors, who will speak on potential changes in the sector.

Mark Chatterton – Director, Duncan & Toplis, speaking on tax planning in a volatile market.

James Black – Senior Associate, Brown & Co who will inform farmers how they can be fit for the future.

Micheal Summers – Area Director Agriculture, Lloyds Bank, who will give his thoughts on financial risk management.

Places are free, but are expected to be booked up fast. Registration is open via the event website. The event runs from 5.30pm to 8pm and includes a buffet supper.
