Former Red Arrows Leader to Inspire at LEP Business Live

Business people love a high flyer, so they will look forward to hearing a keynote speech by a former team leader of the Red Arrows at this month’s LEP Business Live.

Jas Hawker, who was selected to lead the famous Lincolnshire-based aerobatic team in 2007, has first-hand experience of developing and leading a world-class high performance team.

He was the youngest ever pilot to fly the Tornado ground attack aircraft on the front line, and served in four operational squadrons, taking part in both training and operational deployments all over the world; he is also a qualified flying instructor.

In his speech to business people at the Lincolnshire Showground on 23rd October Jas will offer tangible and practical insights into project execution, risk taking, high performance and leadership excellence. He will also explore the specific behaviours and processes required to deliver outstanding execution in demanding environments

Jas said: “I will be speaking on performance, culture and leadership. It’s not about individual stars; you choose to be a great team.

“My speech will also cover embedding the right behaviours and disciplined processes to drive outcomes as well as how to influence and motivate those around you towards goals.“

Jas served alongside Justin Hughes in the Red Arrows for three years, including two years flying as part of the synchro pair, before returning in 2007 as Team Leader and Commanding Officer for a further three-year period.

In this role, Jas was responsible for all aspects of the Red Arrows’ operations including risk and safety management. He led the Red Arrows on overseas tours to the USA, Middle East and Far East and has performed over 500 public displays.

Jas has also undertaken a number of high-level appointments within the Ministry of Defence, advising senior military officers and civil servants on strategic and operational matters.

LEP Business Live will take place on Friday 23rd October 2015 from 9am and will feature exhibitors, guest speakers, round table events and business networking.

The event is staged by the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership in collaboration with Lincolnshire Media and aims to shine a spotlight on the range of industries which make a vital contribution to the Greater Lincolnshire economy.

This year there will be a dedicated exhibition area with industry zones covering property, finance, energy, digital, business and skills. This year’s theme is Celebrating Greater Lincolnshire.

Entry to LEP Business Live is free but delegates are asked to pre-register via the Eventbrite page so that lunch can be provided for them.
