John Cridland to Headline at Directors’ Briefing

The retiring Director-General of the Confederation of British Industry and the Minister of State for Skills will both speak at the Duncan & Toplis Directors’ Briefing in November.

John Cridland CBE and Nick Boles MP are two of the headlining speakers confirmed for the event, which offers insight and high-level advice to business leaders from across the East Midlands.

The Directors’ Briefing will take place at the Belton Woods Hotel near Grantham on Friday 27th November 2015.

John Cridland was brought up in Boston, Lincolnshire and attended Boston Grammar School before reading history at Christ’s College Cambridge.

Having been with the Confederation of British Industry since 1982, John Cridland CBE was Deputy Director-General from 2000 to 2010 and has been Director-General for the past five years. After becoming the CBI’s youngest ever director in 1991 he went on to negotiate the UK’s first national minimum wage and entry into the European Union’s social chapter on employment conditions.

His appearance at the Directors’ Briefing will be one of his first speaking engagements after his retirement from his role at the CBI on 15th November.
