Louth Charities In the Money Thanks to Duncan & Toplis

Generous employees at the Louth office of chartered accountants Duncan & Toplis have raised £1,500 for two charities.

The Louth and District Parkinson’s UK Branch and The Ark Animal Rescue and Retirement Home in North Somercotes will take an equal share of the funds.

Duncan & Toplis employees, led by a charity committee formed last year, have worked hard for the past 12 months to raise the money.

Activities have included tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, trying to solve the Riddle of the Marshes on the Lincolnshire coast, baking cakes for a cake sale and holding charity auctions.

“Louth and District Parkinson’s UK Branch is extremely grateful for all the hard work Duncan & Toplis has done in donating £750 to our local group this year, “ said Chairman Lesley Swift.

“This will go towards providing various outings and activities for our members who meet on a weekly basis.”

Sue Rice, Manager of The Ark Animal Rescue and Retirement Home, said: “We really appreciate the help and support of staff at Duncan & Toplis for the work we do.

“The number of animals needing our help never decreases and we couldn’t keep going without the continuing support of kind animal lovers.

“Everything donated, whether money or goods, is used solely for the welfare of the animals in our care.”

Nick Cudmore, Director at the Louth office of Duncan & Toplis, commented: “I am really proud of the team here at Louth. They have all put in a lot of time and effort over the last 12 months to raise this substantial figure and it will be of great benefit to the two selected local causes.”
