Olympic Hopeful Chris Seeks Further Sponsors

Olympic Double Trap shooter Chris Jarratt from Boston is seeking some extra sponsorship to help keep him on target for joining the Team GB Olympic Academy.

Having already secured sponsorship from East Midlands accountancy firm Duncan & Toplis, the 22-year-old needs further funding to help achieve his ambition of competing in the 2018 Commonwealth Games and ultimately the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The chartered accountants sponsored Chris to fund his GB Talent Programme Olympic Academy entrance fee.

However, Chris – whose mother Sandy has worked at the firm for 15 years – needs around £20,000 overall per year to fund his training up to the big event in 2020.

Chris was the only non-Team GB competitor to be invited by British Shooting to attend last month’s Fazz’a Italian Green Cup, the largest international shooting competition held in Europe every year.

Despite losing a fixture from his gun during the second round, which significantly impaired his vision, Chris scooped a silver medal in his class, making him one of only three medal winners from the UK in Olympic Double Trap.

Chris said: “My goal for the future is to progress to the Olympic Academy under the guidance of my fantastic Team GB coach, John Bellamy, and gain a place in the GB double trap team so that I can represent my country.

“I am so close to achieving this but desperately need to secure more funding to make it a reality.”

Adrian Reynolds, Managing Director at Duncan & Toplis said: “Chris shows real promise in what he does and here at Duncan & Toplis we are very much behind supporting young sporting talent.

“To get Chris to Tokyo in 2020 will be a great moment for him, but also for the people of Lincolnshire. I’d urge anyone who wants to see him do well to dig deep. We wish him all the best.”

If you or anyone you know is interested in supporting Chris on his journey to Tokyo 2020, email sandy.jarratt@duntop.co.uk or call 01205 310250.
