Washingborough Hall Opens New Six-bed Extension

Washingborough Hall near Lincoln has opened a new six-bedroom extension at its Grade II listed country house hotel taking the total number of rooms from 14 to 20.

In response to growing demand from leisure and business travellers, owners Edward and Lucy Herring decided to transform their former private residence into six beautifully decorated and well-appointed bedrooms.

“Over the past nine years the hotel has been completely refurbished and in 2015 we built the Winston Room orangery which has provided a beautiful space for weddings, conferences and events,” explained Edward.

“Converting the cottage, or Church House as it’s now called, was the next natural progression. As with the building and restoration work we’ve already undertaken, we were keen to provide all the modern-day comforts people expect from a high-quality modern country hotel, while retaining the original Georgian features and we’re delighted with the result. So far the feedback from guests has been amazing.”

All the rooms in Church House, which is adjoined to the main hotel, have all been individually decorated in line with the existing décor and feature modern bathrooms, flat screen TVs, tea and coffee making facilities and free wi-fi.

Guests can either book individual rooms or the whole of Church House, making it the perfect place for both a romantic getaway for two or a group stay. And to celebrate the opening, the hotel is offering a special Autumn Leaves & City Spires two-night break for just £95 per person per night.

Available until 30th November 2017, the offer includes a two-night stay in one of the hotel’s classic double rooms and a three-course dinner in the award-winning Dining Room Restaurant on both nights.

For those who want to take advantage of the hotel’s complimentary shuttle bus into nearby Lincoln, the Autumn Leaves & City Spires offer also includes two complimentary tickets to visit one of Europe’s finest examples of Gothic architecture, Lincoln Cathedral.
